Oil on wood panel

h: 61 w: 61 d: 1 (cms).

The artist depicts a young woman curled up in a yellow armchair, and the unconventional point of view shows that the sitter in lying on her side in a foetal position, alone. Her body is struck by the light coming from the left. The light gradually brightening her body can be interpreted as the metaphoric enlightenment she needs to understand herself, her shadowed inner thoughts. The artist likes to analyse in her works the thin line that separates loneliness from solitude, putting a lot of emphasis on women's emotions and preferring unusual and striking compositions. Zooming as close as possible to the sitters leaves the viewer disoriented for the lack of contextualisation and helps the artist to focus on her model's hands and portraits.
